Electro Optic Systems (EOS) is an Australian technology company operating in the defense, space and communications markets. They are a world leader in space information and intelligence services, optical, microwave and on-the-move satellite products, optical sensor units and remote weapon systems for the land, sea and air.
As EOS expands their international footprint, one of their challenges is ensuring they can maintain their cybersecurity defensive perimeter. Dragonfly Technologies worked with EOS to uplift their security posture and maturity and partnered with Rapid7 to tailor a response to EOS’s challenge.
The Rapid7 Managed Detect and Response (MDR) service provides monitoring, detection, and incident management that is tailored to EOS’s business needs.
“EOS is a global technology company. We specialize in technology solutions in communication space and defense. EOS has been facing a number of challenges as we continue to scale. One of our greatest issues has been making sure that we can maintain our cybersecurity defensive perimeter as we continue to expand across the globe.
Over the last few years, we’ve formed a strong partnership with EOS to help them on their journey to uplift their security posture and maturity as we’ve seen them expand from a small organization to the enterprise they are today. Rapid7 was a natural fit, as they are the market leaders in security, information event management. They have a world-class managed detection and response capability and an active place in the global threat community.
In our channel partner model, we’re really looking for partners like Dragonfly that can understand our products and services and tailor them to local customer requirements. Our MDR service is an extension to EOS’s security team and provides monitoring, detection, and instant management and tailors that to the EOS’s business needs.
The MDR service is really important to us, as it provides us with a really strong partnership. Combining the AI and ML opportunities provided by Rapid7 and the industry-leading technology and best practice from Dragonfly. It’s provided us with an incredible level of comfort across the board.
The managed detection and response is actually our managed service with our own software inside IDR that we provide to customers. We assist customers like EOS as a natural extension of their team. Coupled with customer advisor and our SOC, we act as a virtual CISO and look after the software for them.
The key to supporting EOS is providing not just a local, but a global capability. Given the nature of their business and the sensitivity, in some cases being in the interest of national security, we need to provide a 24-by-7, 365 day continuous protection service.
We rely on the responsive capability. So it is an inevitability that we will be subject to an attack, but knowing that we have 24-by-7 coverage eyes on glass to be there to prevent that is incredibly useful.
Effective relationships for EOS is incredibly important as we approach everything from a position of trust; particularly, when it comes to cybersecurity. Having worked with Dragonfly and Rapid7 and seeing the natural evolution of the MDR capability as part of the relationship, it’s been incredibly important.
We find Dragonfly is a natural extension of our team, as well, in providing the best possible outcome for the customer.
